Refunds and Cancellation

Version: Interim version 2026-10-31 · In effect from: 31 October 2026

This page explains how paid memberships, cancellations, failed maps and refunds work on BeatCadence. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Who bills you

Paid BeatCadence tiers are Patreon memberships. Patreon takes the payment, runs renewals, and handles pledge refunds under Patreon's own terms. We never see or store your card or bank details. We only learn from Patreon whether you are a member, which tier you have, and the status and dates of your charges.

Prices and the number of maps in each tier are shown on our Patreon page. They may change.

Cancelling a membership

When a payment fails

Maps that fail come back automatically

You do not need to ask. A map is credited back to your monthly count if:

A map counts as used if it is made, or if you cancel after a generator has started on it.

"My browser could not put the map together"

The map data is put together with your song inside your browser. If that step fails after you have downloaded the map data, the page lets you report it, and that map is credited back.

Refunds of membership payments

Refunds of Patreon pledges go through Patreon, under Patreon's terms. To ask for one, use Patreon's refund process. You can also contact us at beatcadenceapp@gmail.com and we will help where we can.

If Patreon refunds a payment, your paid tier ends straight away and you move to the free allowance.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

You are also entitled to choose a refund or compensation for reduced value instead of cancelling. If a failure is not major, you are entitled to have it fixed within a reasonable time, and if that is not done, to cancel and get a refund for the unused portion. You may also be entitled to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss caused by the failure.

Nothing on this page limits these rights, or any rights you have under the consumer law where you live. If you think you are owed a remedy, contact us at beatcadenceapp@gmail.com. If the law requires us to give you a refund, we will give it, and we will agree with you how it is paid.
